Ways To Make Your Web Site Profitable
Okay, so you worked the long and hard hours to build what you believe will be beneficial to all who view it, then you realize that you still have to pay a monthly or yearly fee to keep it up. Even if you did not intend to start your web site as a way to make a living, surely you want to find a way to support this hobby profitable enough to stay afloat.
If the purpose of you putting up the web site was to make an income, hopefully you had a full business plan in effect before you put the site up. If you hoped that getting a site alone was sufficient enough to make a full time income or to get you rich, you will be sorely disappointed.
However, if your goal is to just support a web site to keep it running, there are a few ways to do it.
Amazon.com has donation boxes you can put on your web site to solicit donations. If your audience is loyal enough and like your site, chances are they may throw you some money to keep the web site going.
Another way is to get a donation box through PayPal which is the same concept.
Alternatively, you could offer a report each month and sell it for $1. Make sure the report is on the topic of your site which would appeal to your audience. For only $1, the right report could fund your expense to keep the web site going each month.
If you get enough traffic and have a good looking site, you may want to consider Google Adsense, Mamma.com, Adbrite or any of the many pay-per-click ad firms that will pay you for clicks on your web site.
Affiliate programs are great if you have a niche web site. There are so many different ones you can choose. If you highlight at least one per page of high traffic content, or feature a store on its own, you may be able to make enough to fund your site.
